Holiday Premium Packaging Collections Are Here

Christmas time is the busiest time of the year for retailers. We know now more than ever that presentation is half the battle. We have had wonderful response to our Premium Bag Collection and we knew we had to add a holiday collection. I would like to introduce each one and point out a few highlights and features.

The Black Tie Collection entices you to rethink the traditional colors of Christmas red and green. When black is introduces along with red, white and Kraft the holiday season takes on a whole new feeling. This collection reminds us that the holidays can be re-imaged and become sophisticated and sleek without going too far. The collection includes our black and holiday breeze paper merchandise bags along with silver poly ribbon, white, wine and black tissue. Rounding out the collection are various colors of our raffia and white star bows.

The Frosty Holiday Collection is a collection of colors that take a softer more muted approach to the Holidays with our Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas frosty bags with blue and green graphics. Included in this collection are our frosted electric blue and mint green bags as well as complementary tissue papers in Kelly green and dark blue. Rounding out the collection are the green and light blue star bows. Silver solid gift wrap adds just the right amount of charm to the collection that your customers will be sure to take notice.

Winter Funderland Collection adds just the right amount of whimsy with pops of color and fun. In this collection we have included our Magic Christmas, citrus green and cerise shopping bags. In addition we have numerous colors of raffia that are offered in 100 yard rolls. This collection includes our red and green curling ribbon and tissue papers. We really wanted to show that you can take traditional colors and punch up the style factor with brighter colors that would typically be associated with spring or summer merchandise.

The Season’s Greetings Collection is the most traditional collection that we offer. This collection is full of gold, red and green colors that we are sure will instantly evoke the holiday spirit in everyone that sees it! The collection includes copper, green and season greetings paper shopping bags. We’ve also included red and gold poly ribbon, tissue paper and raffia that will give you plenty of ways to merchandise your product or create gift bags for your customers to present their gifts in.

Whatever collection you choose, you can be sure that we have provided enough stylish options for you to create colorful and memorable packaging to give to your customers this season. As always, we would love to hear from you regarding any comments or suggestions that you may have. Please visit us on Twitter and Facebook for sneak previews and exclusives.

Bakers Rack

Baker’s Rack

Our wooden baker’s rack has the ability to transform all types of merchandise for a variety of uses. This merchandise rack is a smart choice for different looks ranging from Americana to Country French. For under $25 dollars, we have transformed the look of a simple pine wooden rack into an eye popping chic merchandiser worthy of any specialty store, boutique or even your closet at home.

To create this crackle technique we used two colors of latex paint and crackle medium. We painted the base coat using an easy to apply latex gold paint color that can be purchased at any discount store or hardware store and let it dry over night. We applied paint to the baker’s rack using an inexpensive paintbrush. For this application we recommend that you apply two coats of the base color before applying the crackle medium. The paint must adhere well to the pine wood in order for the crackle to “grab” the base coat. After the base coat has dried, you need to apply the crackle medium according to the directions for the medium that is used and allow it to dry. Make sure that the crackle medium will work with the type of paint you have chosen. Lastly apply the top coat of black paint color. As you paint over the crackle finish you will notice the paint start to antique revealing the base coat underneath.

It is important that you choose colors that are not closely related in tone or color. If the colors are too close together you will find that the crackle effect will not be as dramatic. Whatever you chose, keep in mind that the more contrasting the colors the more dramatic the effect will be. You will need proper ventilation so it is wise to paint outside. Place a drop cloth under the display to protect the ground. I also recommend applying a polyurethane sealer after painting the top coat to protect it from the elements.

We have chosen to merchandise shoes and handbags for this project because let’s face it, what women doesn’t love shoes and handbags? I haven’t met one yet who didn’t and upon creating this antiqued look, the rack was just begging for us to add those elements to it!  We simple turned the shoes to a side profile to create a contemporary look. Don’t forget to add lifts and levels with our acrylic risers. Our risers are a neat option to add visual interest. Adding lifts and levels allows for the eye to wonder throughout the entire display. The idea is to make it so appealing that your customer will want to purchase every item on the rack. It is important to keep in mind that in addition to shoes and accessories this could be used to display other merchandise as well. Standing at 70” high, this rack has plenty of room to display home décor, holiday merchandise, bake ware or edible products.

Please drop us a note and let me know if you liked our ideas.  Dont’ forget to let us know what you would like to see transformed next!

4 Panel Pegboard Display & Rotating Pegboard Tower

Our 4 panel wood display and rotating pegboard tower have the ability to transform all types of merchandise for a variety of uses. The pegboard display can be used as a screen or when a top and rotating base are added it becomes a rotating pegboard tower. The display will arrive in a natural pine finish. For under $10 dollars, you can transform the look of the wood with a paintbrush, and latex paint. We painted the display using an easy to apply latex Americana red paint color that can be purchased at any discount store or hardware store and let it dry over night. You will need proper ventilation so it is wise to paint outside. Place a drop cloth under the display to protect the ground. We applied paint to the display frame only using a trim brush being careful not to overload the brush. If you brush on too much it will leave drip marks. I also recommend applying a polyurethane sealer after painting to protect it from the elements.

Artisans and Crafters

We put our emphasis on crafters and farmers market vendors with these tips because typically the months of August through November are peak season.  We want to give you some last minute ideas and inspiration for your next show.

The rotating pegboard display is a brilliant choice for crafters on the go! The display is lightweight at 28 lbs and is easy to set up. It will arrive already hinged together. Wrap the screen into a 4 sided square. Affix the top and rotating bottom to the screen and it’s ready to merchandise! We sell peg hooks and other accessories in a variety of sizes that will easily fix this display. In less than 30 minutes to an hour you will be ready for your customers.

Display #1 Home Décor

The display is set up to do more than just show product for sale. We also used a side for extra supplies that may be needed as well. Because this item rotates, the screen can be used by your customer and you at the same time. As they are purchasing merchandise, you can set your raffia up on one side and bags on another. The only installation is to insert peg hooks into the pegboard holes spaced out however you would like.

Display #2 Jewelry & Accessories

As a jewelry and accessories displayer, this unit can really go the distance. You can display lots of different accessories side by side. The peg hooks allow for the flexibility this sort of product requires. This unit also allows you to layer your products together so that your customer can get a feel for what colors are most appealing together as well as what accessories will complement. Whatever you decide to do with the pegboard display remember that as your product line changes this displayer will keep up with you. Please post any comments or helpful tips you may have regarding this product. We are always happy to hear from you. Please look for us on Facebook. We will be posting other fun photos related to this article.

Have a wonderful weekend. Go out and do something creative that inspires you.  I’ll see you next week.

Mannequin Head Forms

Friday, October 8th, 2010

Mannequin head forms are not just for wigs anymore! We have re-imaged the head form just in time for the Halloween season. Traditionally, mannequin head forms have been used for wigs. We wanted to show you a few non traditional ways to accentuate fashion accessories and combine these items to create table top displays that your customers will have to turn their heads and take notice. Pictured above is our female 20″ suntan styrofoam mannequin head. Typically these head forms are used to display long haired wigs. We simply took a feathered masquerade mask to accentuate the detail of the mask. Because the neck is long, it really draws the eye upward. This is a simple alternative instead of displaying the masks on a peg hook or inside of a display case.

The next display combines our 11″ male suntan styrofoam mannequin head and our 11″ white female styrofoam mannequin head form. Inspired by Alice In Wonderland we have pulled together a complete table display that is inspiring and unique. This would be a great way to display Halloween hats and other accessories.

Alice In Wonderland Display

To duplicate this look,  you can use a round or rectangular table covered with fabric. We used a wine velvet cloth. Next we added some old books. We placed a mad hatter hat on to of the male head on top of a stack of the books. We leaned the books onto each other and opened one in front of the display.  Next we added a box covered in gift wrap and ribbon. We added a white female mannequin head and placed a pair of bunny ears and gold glasses onto the form. Lastly we added a vial of colored water and tea cup to complete the look.

As always we love to hear from you so make sure you let us know what you have done to make your Halloween displays shine! Have a wonderful weekend and keep checking back with us for more inspiration, tips and ideas.

Halloween Displays

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

The Halloween season is one of the best times of the year when you can just let your creativity go wild! With a few scary or seasonal signature items added to the mix, you can create displays that will come alive so that your customers will take notice and perhaps purchase everything on the table! In the above photos we wanted to provide you with a little inspiration.

Colors of the Season

We have taken our creative license to encourage you to embrace the colors of the season. While orange and black are traditional Halloween colors, we also feature our citrus green paper shopping bags with orange tissue paper, black paper shopping bags with canary yellow tissue paper and our burnt orange paper shopping bags with black tissue paper. All of the bags featured are 16×6x12″ bags.

We called upon the spirit of Edgar Allen Poe’s classic The Raven to create a fun display featuring our orange and black bags and tissue along with fun black birds in various stages of flight and rest.

The Raven Tabletop Display

To create our raven display, you can use a round display table or any flat surface. Place a large piece of burlap fabric to cover the top. Alternate the bag colors and tissues on the diagonal or whatever formation you would like. Place fabric spider webs from the top of the bag to the table. Tear small sections and stretch the webs for the most realistic result. The webs will generally stay attached to any fabric you use. If they do not, simply tape them to the table and cover with any item that you are using for your display. Next we added a Gothic inspired candle stick with a round candle at the front of the display. We finished off the look by placing the black bird on the top of each bag and on the table in front of the bags. And finally we added some corked viles  filled with food coloring tinted water. Now you have a complete look for your store that will delight your customers and truly inspire.

We would love to see displays that you have created. Feel free to send them to us so that we can show them off!
