Fall Merchandising Tips

The fall season has arrived with new apparel and accessories along with it. This season sets the stage for the some of the biggest holidays of the year. Now, more than any other time of year, people will be shopping for the latest merchandise, styles, and trends and are looking to you to show them the way.

With competition from online retailers, attention to detail can set your business apart from the online experience. We are here to offer you a few tips and tricks to capture your customer’s attention and keep them returning season after season.

  1. Create a feature table. A feature table can include some of your best-selling merchandise or limited addition, seasonal products. Nesting tables are a great choice to use here.  These tables do not take up a lot of space on the floor and you can display merchandise in a way that draws the eye to different levels.
  1. If you are a clothing retailer, it’s always a good idea to feature an outfit on a mannequin. Some of our most popular mannequin options include dressmaker forms and egghead mannequins. Flexible mannequins are also a great option for children displays. These mannequins allow the merchandise to be the star as they do not focus on facial features that exist on traditional mannequins.
  1. Display complimentary accessories along with your featured apparel. There are all sorts of jewelry, handbag, or footwear options available. Make sure you show them nearby so that your customer can have an easier time seeing the full look and making a decision on what to purchase. If your customer has a bad experience, they are likely to tell someone they know and word-of-mouth marketing can have a huge effect on your business.

Tulle Sale Wreath Tutorial

Attracting customer attention to your store is one of the many challenges that business owners face each day. One of the most effective ways to overcome this is by getting creative in your store’s front window. Window display presentation is a wonderful way to express your creativity, while drawing people into your store. By utilizing your creativity, you can offer your customers a glimpse of the style they will see once they walk through your doors.

We have put together a fun, eye-catching tulle wreath tutorial that you can use to easily draw customer attention, either in a window display or once they are already in the store. With only a few supplies and your imagination, you can create something unique that can be used again and again. Inside of the tulle wreath, we designed signage that spells out SALE using the blank back side of our blue chevron boutique signage. We simply ran 4 signs through a printer vertically with each individual letter printed in the middle of the sign. We made diagonal cuts on each side to create an old-fashioned hang tag, punched a hole, and secured it to the wreath with fishing line.  Our complete line of tulle is available here.

Embellishments are a new item that will add a little extra attention to your shopping bags and gift boxes. We have embellishments available as stickers or high quality colored cardstock in packs of 25.  The cardstock includes double-sided stick tabs to place where you would like. This is a great way to add a simple message to convey to your customers that you appreciate their business or to encourage their repeat business.

Pearlized raffia has become a popular item in our packaging category. We have recently reduced the price per roll to $3.90 per roll of 100 yards down from $4.95. We have added 7 additional colors that will compliment your packaging products and bags.
